Given the complex double-curved geometry of the cylindrical elements, the core structure is crafted from E1-grade, high-density fiberboard—chosen for its exceptional structural stability and dense composition. The exterior is encased in delicate natural North American black walnut veneer, applied via a high-tonnage curved molding process that ensures a seamless, fully bonded hot-press finish. Finished with a semi-matte clear lacquer, the veneer showcases the walnut’s distinctive, fine cathedral grain and rich, dark-brown tones as they flow smoothly along the curves—entirely free of visible seams, breaks, or lifting—perfectly replicating the luxurious, solid presence of a piece carved from a single block of timber. Behind the open sections—where there are no wooden cylinders—semi-enveloping saddle leather back panels are ingeniously inset. Embedded horizontally within each walnut shelf is a heavy-duty, industrial-grade carbon steel load-bearing beam, which rigidly locks the wooden cylinders and saddle leather panels together at the core. This steel framework effectively distributes downward pressure, ensuring that even when fully loaded with heavy items, the structure remains rock-solid—showing absolutely no sagging, deformation, or wobbling. The edges of each leather panel are meticulously finished by hand with multiple layers of dense edge paint and secured with high-precision double-track stitching, creating a refined, tailored look reminiscent of the piping on a high-end Italian suit.
